Founded in 1991,  The Romanian Publishers’ Association is the main professional book publishers’ association in Romania, which gathers publishers belonging to all cultural realms.  

The main objective of The Romanian Publishers’ Association consists of protecting and representing the Romanian book publishers’  interests in front of any legislative institutions, public authorities, non-governmental organizations and in front of the public at large. It also consists of promoting the real values of the Romanian culture and spirit through activities that offer a different perspective to the relation between the cultural events and the public to which they are addressed.

The Romanian Publishers’ Association is in charge with the supervision of the lolyal competition among book publishers. It also has to promote Romanian books publishing, to analyse and disseminate the Romanian book publishing activities, as well as to promote the recently appeared technology regarding  the domenium.

Moreover, The Romanian Publishers’ Association intends to promote good books reading and high quality writings. Besides, it aims to give readers easy access to books, may it be an informational or material one. This is the  way RPA brings its contribution both to a free traffic of ideas and to the integration of the Romanian language and culture in the world circuit of values. 

Trying to set up a national strategy of the Romanian books creation, publishing, spreading and promoting, The Romanian Publishers’ Association aims to mediate and keep a constant and constructive relation between book publishers and state.
